What:

SevaYatra, an Infosys CSR partner has organized a 3 hour service project for Infosys employees. Infosys employees will work with Canopy to make a difference in our community by caring for trees at schools in East Palo Alto. We will be mulching, weeding, and watering young trees that were planted this spring.  This project is part of Canopys Healthy Trees, Healthy Kids! initiative that will plant and care for 1,000 new trees on barren school campuses.

When:

Join us on Sunday, August 21st for a three hour shift (9am-12pm).

How:

Simply email sejal@sevayatra.com and get ready to make an impact at local schools. No previous experience required! All equipment will be provided and you will receive training with your team.

Who:

Family and friends are welcome to volunteer alongside you. Note that this activity is not suited for children under 10 years old. We are looking for a maximum group size of 30 for the volunteer project for that day. We request that you RSVP only if you are certain about your ability to attend. Non Profits are highly dependent on volunteer work and no-shows can create a problem associated with completion of much required work for that day.

Why:

Trees create better learning environments for students, bring much-needed shade to play areas, increase energy efficiency of school buildings, break up heat islands on campuses and can even provide healthy snacks.
